On the event at the UN Headquarters to mark the day of the signing of the UN Charter

On June 26, 2019, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Valentin Rybakov took part in a commemorative event to mark the day of the signing of the UN Charter, organised at the initiative of President of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés.

The UN Charter was signed on June 26, 1945 by representatives of 50 nations at the Conference of the United Nations in San Francisco. On behalf of Belarus, the document was signed by People's Commissioner of Foreign Affairs of the BSSR Kuzma Kiselev.

The event to mark the day of the signing of the UN Charter started a series of activities in the run-up to the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, which will be celebrated in September 2020 in accordance with UN General Assembly resolution 73/299.

During the event, a ceremony of the symbolic signing of the UN Charter by Permanent Representatives of the UN Member States was held to reaffirm commitment to the goals and principles enshrined in the UN Charter.
