V. Makei speaks at UN GA general debate
21.09.2017Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei addressed the UN General Assembly during the general debate.
In his statement (video), Minister noted that last year the Head of the Belarusian state proposed starting a new negotiation process, similar to Helsinki in the 70s, aimed at eliminating the growing political fragmentation. It was noted that Belarus stands ready to become a platform for this new process.
A separate part of statement of Head of the Belarusian diplomacy was devoted to the idea of cooperation and interconnectivity among regional processes – the initiative of the President of the Republic of Belarus “integration of integrations”.
Vladimir Makei also outlined the vision of Belarus regarding the United Nations system reform initiated by the UN Secretary- General, while substantively indicating conditions necessary to succeed in this endeavor.
