Delegation of Belarus participates in the 57th session of the UN Committee for Programme and Coordination

The 57th session of the UN Committee for Programme and Coordination (CPC) has started its work at the UN Headquarters in New York on June 5 and will continue until June 30.

Vadim Pisarevich, Deputy Head of the Directorate for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Committee.

The CPC, which includes 31 UN Member States, is the main subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Council and the General Assembly for the planning, programming and coordination of United Nations administrative and budgetary activities. Belarus was elected to the UN CPC for the period of 2015-2017.

The CPC examines the implementation of UN programs and activities, including from the perspectives of budgetary implications, evaluation of the results achieved, making recommendations on priority and improvement of methods of implementation and coordination of programme activities in the UN system, if necessary.

During its 57th session the UN CPC will review the Strategic Framework for UN activities for the period 2018-2019 and assess the progress of the current programs of the organisation.
