Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs V. Rybakov meets UN Under-Secretary-General M. de Serpa Soares

During his visit to the UN Headquarters in New York V. Rybakov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus had a bilateral meeting with Miguel de Serpa Soares, Legal Counsel and UN Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs.

The parties discussed the possibility of deepening the cooperation between Belarus and the United Nations in the legal sphere. Among the areas of this work – the conclusion of a bilateral agreement concerning United Nations meetings held in the Republic of Belarus, and the continuation of practice of conducting workshops in Belarus on legal issues with the participation of the UN experts.

The Belarusian diplomat praised the work of the UN Office of Legal Affairs, noting that the Treaties Handbook, as well as the Final Clauses of Multilateral treaties prepared by the Office are fruitfully applied in practice by the Belarusian governmental authorities.
