Group of Friends of the Family organises a thematic event at the UN

At the initiative of Belarus the Group of Friends of the Family together with a coalition of non-governmental organisations “Civil Society for the family” held a special thematic event on the family issues “The Rights of the Child: Parents, Experience and Practice”, which was held at the UN Headquarters on the margins of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly.

The Group of Friends of the Family established in 2015. It is composed of 25 countries from all regions of the world. Group of Friends of the Family promotes the interests of the natural family and traditional family values in accordance with the concept of the family, as reflected in the internationally recognized documents.

The innovative special event on the theme of the family in the context of children's rights is the first ever event in the activities of the Group with such wide participation of international non-governmental organisations.

During the interactive dialogue Deputy Director-General for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Pisarevich initiated discussion on the issue of the family’s future in light basic points of an article by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei regarding identity politics and the family in contemporary global order.
