Deputy Minister V.Rybakov meets with the UNDP Administrator Helen Clark

On April 3, 2017, at the headquarters of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov met with UNDP Administrator Helen Clark, who is leaving her post.

The Belarusian diplomat expressed his gratitude to Helen Clark for her dedicated work as the Head of the UNDP and in her capacity as the UN Coordinator of international cooperation on Chernobyl, and her personal contribution to the development of Chernobyl cooperation.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the course and prospects for the international cooperation on Chernobyl in the context of the adoption of the UN General Assembly new resolution on Chernobyl in December 2016.

Background Information: In April 2016 the President of Belarus awarded the Order of Francysk Skaryna to Helen Clark for her significant personal contribution to the enhancement of cooperation between Belarus and the UN in the comprehensive rehabilitation and sustainable development of Chernobyl-hit regions.
